Rabelais to hymn the printed book, product of the new wine
press. The following passage from the disputed “fifth” book of
the work would seem, in terms of my suggestion about the
dominant continuing metaphor of the new printing press in the
entire conception, to be integral to Rabelais.
Bottle whose Mysterious Deep
Does ten thousand secrets keep,
With attentive ear I wait;
